I think that it is beneficial for a few different reasons. First of all...it is highlighting and encouraging the use of 21st century skills. Secondly, it is allowing the students to engage in various modes of instruction, tapping into different learning styles. Lastly, it really allows the students to be creative and express themselves in a way other that just written work.
Student or teacher made videos in the classroom would be beneficial because learning takes place in the process of making the video. Also, students might benefit from a teacher made video because they are accustomed to their teacher's style of teaching. Maybe seeing and hearing a review of a subject at home would help the students understand a concept better. Lorri
Videos offer another method of presenting ideas which can benefit students with different styles of learning. It can break up the monotony of a lecture and provide a little excitement to students who create them for projects.
For visual and auditory learners, videos provide information in an interesting, engaging way. Students are used to watching visually appealing information in everyday life: online, television, computer, even cell phones!
When students can identify with information being presented and with the use of technology being used in a such a manner, students will benefit because they are able to offer feedback directly.
Because they can relate to what is being used. Also, the teacher or student can make sure that the video has information that has been covered in the classroom
